Nudoku+ is a Sudoku game with a number of display variants to choose from:
- A selection of standard Emojis
- A Set of hand painted drawings
- A Collection of AI-generated images
- 9 different colors
- The usual digits 1-9
- All 125 verses of the Chinese Qianziwen ("Thousand Character Essay") primer with text-to-speech support and Pinyin pronunciation tooltips, in simplified and traditional sets as a tool for playfully memorizing this basic set.
Like a normal Sudoku, to complete the Puzzle you have to fill in all the cells so that no row, column or block of 9 cells contains the same item twice. When you start a new game, some cells are already filled in such a way that there is only one single solution to achieve this. The hint button will show you if there is a cell filled with a wrong item, or, if all are correct, will show you one additional cell filled.
There is a mode to freely fill the empty board. In this case, after each move the board is checked if a solution is still possible. In some cases where there is no solution left, the calculation may take a minute, more or less. A red frame means no solution left, A green frame indicates that a single solution was found. Pressing the play game button then starts the game timer for the "Custom" High Score category,
This variant has additional features such as the capability to save and load games, with more coming later. There is an extra view mode for memorizing chinese characters, where the numbers are represented by the chinese numbers 1-9 and the complete characters in the Qianziwen (Thousand characters essay). The chosen symbols will be pronounced by the Android Text-to-Speech component when a chinese text-to-speech voice is installed in the Android system settings. This normally is somewhere in Accessibility / Text to Speech or TalkBack, but may vary, depending on the device brand. Each verse of 8 characters forms a sudoku glyph set, completed with the verse number written in chinese numbers as 9th element.
